Influences

Kallpa Decor combine contemporary designs with the ancient peruvian culture´s art influence.  One of our most important influences is:

“Sarhua”, a little town with no more than 5000 inhabitants located at 5225 meters over the sea level in Ayacucho, Perú, South America.  The drawings represent the family daily activities with their objects, animals, meat and favorite plants.

“The shipibo”, are one of the native groups of the Peruvian east and live in the Ucayali and Amazonas river shores.  They develop their art by drawing in fabrics and ceramic using natural color techniques with vegetable resins and potter’s clay.  The geometric lines are the main characteristic in their drawings and “Ronin” is the most important character in the Shipibo design, a snake which symbolizes God.

Kallpa Decor aims to contribute to the development of the Peruvian craftmen.
